Type. Review. Drill.

A short loop that shows where the time goes and gives you something to do about it.

Pick a test and type

Choose time, word count or real sentences. The clock starts on your first key, and your speed updates as you go.

Read the results

See speed second by second, where the errors happened, and how accurate each key on the keyboard was.

Drill your weak keys

One tap builds a short test from words packed with the letters you missed most. Then watch your history climb.

More than one number.

Words per minute tells you how fast. Everything else tells you how to get faster.

Every second, charted.

Your speed and raw speed for each second, with a mark wherever an error happened. Hover to see the detail.

A heatmap of your keyboard.

Each key is shaded by how often you hit it right.

Drills that target you.

Practise words heavy in your weakest letters.

(chars ÷ 5) ÷ min

Honest maths.

Only characters in correctly typed words count, spaces included, divided by five per minute. Mistakes you leave in don't pad the score.

Personal bests, kept.

A best for every test length, a history of every run and your average over the last ten.

Made for phones too.

A hidden input picks up your on-screen keyboard, autocorrect stays off, and the text resizes to fit.

Questions

How is WPM worked out?
WPM = (characters in correctly typed words, including the space after each one ÷ 5) ÷ minutes. Five characters count as one word, which is the usual standard. A word with any mistake left in it adds nothing.
What is raw WPM?
Raw counts every key you pressed that produced a character or space, right or wrong, the same way. If raw is far above WPM, you are losing speed to errors rather than to slow fingers.
What does consistency mean?
It compares your raw speed from second to second. 100% means you kept exactly the same pace the whole way; lower numbers mean bursts and pauses.
Why can't I backspace into the previous word?
Once you press space, that word is locked in. This keeps the score honest and matches how most typing tests work. You can still fix anything inside the word you are on.
Where are my results stored?
In your browser's storage on this device only. Nothing is uploaded. You can clear your history at any time from the Progress tab.
